At Falcon Waterfree Technologies, we pride ourselves in creating a better future. The foundation of the company is based on ecological conservation, embedding sustainability across our business operations and daily practices. As part of our commitment to support environmental protection, we have partnered with our B Local Los Angeles Community in a week long celebration of Earth Day that our own Marketing Director and Chair of the Los Angeles B Corp Community, Andrea Chase, created.
B Local Los Angeles is a partnership between all the B Corporations in Los Angeles. Their mission is to share ideas, inspire each other and combine forces to make a larger, more sustainable impact on the local community.
In light of this, the group has launched a week long campaign for Earth Day 2016. The multi-company movement has been hosting, through social media channels, an inspirational theme for every day of the week. On April 18th, the campaign started by encouraging participants to go vegetarian for a day and document their efforts, utilizing the hashtags #MeatlessMonday and #BLocalLA. In order to minimize their environmental footprint, the companies promoted the use of carpooling, walking, biking or public transportation to go to work for #TransportationTuesday. For #WaterWednesday, the challenge was to use 4 liters aka 1 gallon of water through the entire day for showering, cooking, cleaning and drinking. Water is usually taken for granted, but millions of people around the world cannot afford it. The #4liters Challenge encourages people to love and protect their water resources. Today is #ReuseThursday, and the community of Local B Corps has been sharing and highlighting each company’s approach to reusing items around the office on social media. By documenting their collective efforts using #BLocalLA, the movement is supporting each other while collectively tracking their water, energy and greenhouse gas savings.
Last but not least, the celebration’s grand finale is tomorrow on Earth Day, April 22nd. B Local Los Angeles is partnering with local non-profits, Enrich LA and the Do Good Bus, to bring gardens to Kingsley Elementary, a local school in East Hollywood. With a student body that is largely low- income, the children will learn the benefits of planting their own garden and contributing to a more sustainable way of life.
Falcon Waterfree Technologies is joining Abacus Wealth Partners, Align Impact, B Lab, Beautycounter, Dogeared, Erbaviva, GOOD, MaCher, Mark Leibowitz Photography, Place of the Future and Sustainable Law Group in this initiative. Through the power of our collective efforts, we are amplifying our community impact and creating a more sustainable Los Angeles.
